Travis and Rob share their story of how they met at Codesmith and the challenges they faced scaling their company. They dive into skills and community Codesmith equipped them with, as well as what the future looks like for Oddball as it continues to grow.

About the Speakers:
Rob Wilkinson Oddball, CTO & Co-Founder
Rob Wilkinson is the co-founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Oddball, an award-winning digital service agency. Rob is responsible for finding cutting-edge digital solutions to innovate government services. Rob has researched emerging technologies and developed processes that allow DevOp teams to write clean and efficient code. He is focused on expanding Oddball’s technical capabilities in order to provide cost and time savings for the Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other partners.
Prior to forming Oddball in 2015, Rob served as an instructor to help launch developers’ careers. He created React, Angular JS, Ruby on Rails, and Node curriculums at Codesmith and General Assembly. Rob was also responsible for giving lectures on a variety of topics, ranging from data structures to User Experience (UX) principles. Rob’s experience as a developer and educator provides valuable insight in order to build award-winning teams, inspire growth and deliver new software solutions. He continues to provide lectures throughout the United States to discuss the future of government technology and the benefits of leveraging open data to develop modern digital services.
Rob holds a B.A. from the University of California, Riverside. As a founding member of the Digital Services Coalition, Rob provides guidance and engages with the community. He actively supports various non-profit organizations, such as Carry the Load and Patriot Bootcamp to help service members, Veterans, and their families.
Travis Sorensen Oddball, CEO & Co-Founder:
As the co-founder & CEO of Oddball, Travis Sorensen leads Oddball in creating solutions to modernize federal digital services. Oddball is currently focused on supporting digital initiatives for Veterans Affairs (VA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Air Force among other federal partners.
Travis leverages his previous experience as a Veteran, entrepreneur, mentor, and developer to manage all facets of the software company’s fast-growing business. He began his career in the Federal Government by enlisting in the United States Army Reserve as a Laboratory Manager. Travis joined the Federal Reserve Board as an analyst paving the path to new leadership opportunities.
Travis holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland College Park and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He is a founding member of the Digital Services Coalition. Travis and Oddball actively support various non-profit organizations to help service members, Veterans, and their families build businesses and access opportunities through education.
